They are all coming together to help children in the Lake Norman area who need a safe place to do their required remote/virtual learning. DAVIDSON, NC (August 12, 2020)- COVID-19 has brought many changes to the lives of families in the local community Project Champion Bonnie Little and the Make An Impact Foundation (MAIF) are trying to make that change a little more positive with Camp EDvantage. Camp EDvantage is a free camp for kids who do not have the required technology or a safe environment to participate in the virtual learning required by the local schools. The Make an Impact Foundation’s mission is helping underprivileged children. During these times of pandemic status due to the COVID-19 our children might not be susceptible to the virus, but they are suffering from other issues due to this virus. After discussions with other local nonprofits and school systems we’ve determined a good number of local children normally receive meals at school and with all NC public school systems closed, these children aren’t receiving those meals or snacks. That said, we are working to provide those children with food and hygiene kits. If you are able and interested in helping local children in need, please see below on the two ways we are continuing our mission and working to help local children. We are very excited to move forward with the 2020 MAIF Golf-a-thon, our biggest annual fundraiser. The concept is easy: "30 golfers. 100 holes of golf. 1 day. All for charity." Especially in this critical time we hope to achieve the greatest impact yet, raising funds for local projects benefitting kids in need.
