Make An Impact Week Flint
with Samaritan’s Feet and the Make An Impact Foundation
Samaritan’s Feet shares hope with children in the U.S. and around the world by washing their feet, giving them a new pair of shoes, and helping them believe that their dreams can come true. We at Samaritan’s Feet believe that a new pair of shoes can be a tangible foundation of hope to a person in need. Our objective is to help Make an Impact Foundation provide a voice for children who don’t have a voice.
Our team of ambassadors demonstrates servant leadership by washing the feet of the children at Freeman Elementary in Flint and sharing a message of hope with each recipient.
According to Champions for Kids, shoes and socks are in the “Top 5 Items Needed” by students in school (Champions for Kids, 2015). The goal of the program is to provide a framework for community collaboration in preparing students materially, physically and spiritually for the new school year. Every time we sit across from a child, we not only meet their physical needs with a pair of new shoes and socks, but we spend quality time with them asking about their dreams and their lives.
“Our legacy should be created based on what we do for others, not on how much money we make or how many material things we acquire. We will never know the impact of the ripple effect of our actions and obedience if we sit on the sidelines as spectators.”
– Manny Ohonme, Founder & President of Samaritan’s Feet
