About Make an Impact Foundation

WHO

Make An Impact Foundation promotes education and well-being of children by identifying those in need and creating an opportunity to produce change in their lives.

WHAT

My Corporate Impact Fund

Works with businesses on their social impact model, driving projects related to their team’s passions through employee time and financial contributions.

My Impact Fund

Gives individual donors a philanthropic outlet for using their own brand identity without having to create their own charitable 501(c)(3) foundation.

Community Projects

Brings the voices of youth and children together by creating project opportunities for donor champions within the community – neighborhood, philanthropic, business, governmental and academic leaders.

WHY

Make An Impact Foundation strives to create a place where all children have equal opportunity and ability to grow up freely, unencumbered by barriers to grow, dream and imagine.

Our Leadership Team

Building community through vision

Dale GillmoreBoard Chairman

My passion for helping children is the reason I co-founded the Make An Impact Foundation. My goal is to positively impact the lives of many children as we can.

Deborah McKee Director of Impact Operations

At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished. It’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back. -Denzel Washington

Ali Verlander Director of Impact Development

The children and young adults that MAIF supports are the future of our community. I am beyond fortunate and thankful to be a part of such a great organization that believes in investing in our youth to make the world a better place.

Shawn Kennedy Board Ambassador

The ultimate goal for the Impact Center is to serve the boys in Charlotte through mentorship, academics and athletics to show them a pathway to a structured and successful life full of opportunities.

Danny DeckerBoard Member

I’m excited to be part of the team at MAIF because investing in children is the most important investment we can make. In particular, helping to give underprivileged kids a shot at a brighter future is personally fulfilling for me. MAIF is at the front-lines making things happen, and it’s an honor to be a part of that.

Antonio Evans Board Ambassador

Keith PehlBoard Member

I agreed to be on the Board because I believe in giving back to the community, and this is a unique opportunity to help many people with many different causes that often will fall through the cracks of the larger, established non-profit groups.

F.A.Q.

Are you a playground builder?2019-07-25T09:24:36-04:00

No. We love and support all the benefits play brings for children of any age, this is why our playground projects play a great role in our foundation’s mission to make an impact in communities nationwide. Our ultimate goal is to not ‘just build a playground’ but use the playgrounds to open doors to the community helping us learn about other needs and building a strong bond between our local partners to grow the impact through continuing projects.

What is a Project Ambassador?2021-04-13T17:46:43-04:00

Our project ambassador is our ‘go-getter’, donating his/her time to work closely with the MAIF team and driving the project forward. The project ambassador’s passion is to provide resources like their personal network to make sure we raise great awareness for the project, helping us plan and execute our fundraising strategy.

What is a Donor Champion?2021-04-13T17:52:35-04:00

Our donor champion is an individual, group, organization or business who provides a significant monetary contribution to a project. This could potentially be the first money in or lead sponsor.

Do you give out grants?2021-04-13T17:59:04-04:00

No. At the Make An Impact Foundation we are all about TEAMwork and co-fundraising. We collaborate with our project partners and donor champions to reach our fundraising goal. We use a marketing strategy specifically designed for the project including but not limited to networking, events, social media outreach, corporate sponsorships etc.

How much of my donation goes to the cause?2021-04-13T18:01:48-04:00

We are very grateful that we are able to give 85 – 90 cents of every dollar donated, to a project. Our long-term goal is to achieve 90 cents per dollar for all projects.
