The Make an Impact Foundation and our Project Ambassador, Antonio Evans, designed the Upward Mobility Project to give children from underprivileged backgrounds the opportunity to meet with business owners, participate in academic activities and receive continued mentorship thus leading to a stable and hopeful future. In 2017, we sent our first group of six students on an enrichment trip to Washington D.C. where they met with business owners, visited academic institutions as well as toured museums and local sights. Following this experience, they received continued mentoring 1:1 by our project ambassador Antonio Evans, as well as group mentoring with support from the Charlotte business community. In the first summer after our project, five out of the six students had summer jobs. None of them had work experience prior to this project. We are proud to announce that in 2019, one of the students successfully graduated high school and will start college in fall. This entire project is not possible without the financial and volunteer support MAIF receives from its donors. Thank you for changing lives
